2027 SCLL Season
One place for the major decisions families need to make before and during the season.
Where should my child play?
SCLL emphasizes age-appropriate divisions and keeping kids with their peers.
Tee-Ball 1
Ages 3–5
Strictly hitting from the tee. Best for first- and second-year players getting started.
Tee-Ball 2 Baseball
Ages 4–6
Coach pitch from roughly 10–15 feet; the tee comes out after several swings if needed. SCLL strongly encourages 5-year-olds to play Tee-Ball 2.
6U Softball
Ages 5–6
A softball-focused introductory division. Four-year-old girls may choose Tee-Ball 2 or 6U Softball.
6–7 Coach Pitch
Baseball
A natural next step for 6-year-old boys with multiple seasons of Tee-Ball experience.
8U Softball
Pitching Machine
Progressive softball development with age-based placement.
Minors & Majors
Baseball + Softball
Older age divisions build toward full Little League play, All-Stars and tournament opportunities.
From winter work to Opening Day.
February
Indoor Field House practices begin for age groups above Tee-Ball.
March
Player evaluations, roster planning and registration rate increase.
April
Outdoor practices begin as weather allows; game schedules are released.
May–June
Opening Day starts the game season. Most teams play two games per week Monday–Thursday.
